Tuition is per person and based on shared accommodations. Tuition includes scholar honoraria, accommodations, meals as specified in each itinerary, entry fees and permits, group gratuities, and group transportation as specified in each itinerary. International program prices are based on current tariffs and currency exchange rates and are subject to change. Crow Canyon reserves the right to levy a surcharge, if necessary, prior to the final payment date. Not included in tuition are transportation to and from point of origin, meals not specified in the itinerary, airport departure taxes, passport and visa fees, travel insurance, and items of a personal nature.
A deposit is required to confirm your reservation and can be made by check or credit card (American Express, Discover Card, Diners Club, MasterCard, or VISA). Deposit amount, final payment date, cancellation date, and handling fees vary from program to program. Members who donate $100 or more receive the discounted tuition rate on all programs. For information on becoming a member, please see Membership, or call 800.422.8975, ext. 144.
Failure to pay the final balance by the date due can result in your reservation being canceled.
Crow Canyon reserves the right to withdraw, without penalty, any announced program (in which case, a full refund of the purchase price will be made) or to make necessary changes to a program or program schedule.
Crow Canyon is not responsible, in the event of cancellation or alteration of a program, for any airline or other commercial transportation cancellation penalty incurred by purchasing a nonrefundable or restricted ticket. Please contact us about program status prior to making your travel arrangements.
Crow Canyon reserves the right to cancel programs while in progress and to take action as needed on an individual or group basis, when in Crow Canyon’s sole opinion, the health, safety, or well-being of participants requires such action. Crow Canyon’s only obligation shall be to refund to any such person that portion of his or her payment allocable to unused services to the extent that we can recover from subcontractors. Refunds are not otherwise granted for unused services.
No refund will be made if a participant leaves a program in progress.
To secure reservations on a trip for which the final payment date has passed, full payment by credit card is required at the time of your reservation. Last-minute reservations are subject to space availability and may require the payment of late fees.
A $50 fee may be charged for transferring from one program to another on a one-time basis. The transfer can be made to a program in the current or following year, but is not allowed within 90 days of the beginning of the program you are transferring to.
Additional terms and conditions may apply to some programs; these will be provided with pre-trip mailings.
A minimum number of participants is required for each trip. If this minimum is not reached by the final payment date, you may be offered several options: pay a slightly higher program price, select another program, or receive a full refund. If Crow Canyon cancels a trip extension for which you are booked, and you elect to cancel your main trip, you are still subject to the cancellation penalties as described in this policy. Please contact us to check program status prior to making your travel arrangements.
We strongly recommended that you purchase travel insurance. Crow Canyon does not sell travel insurance, but there are many providers that offer a variety of plans. Please visit www.insuremytrip.com or call 1.800.487.4722 to find out more and purchase a plan that meets your needs.
Single accommodations may be available at an additional cost. We can assist you in finding a roommate; however, if we are unable to assign you a roommate, you will be charged the single supplement fee. Many trips include visits to remote or primitive areas, where physical conveniences are limited, and some lodgings are rustic.
For all campus-based programs, we provide shared accommodations in comfortable, Navajo-style log cabins (hogans). Private rooms are not available and, depending on enrollment, couples might not be housed together. Shared, modern shower and toilet facilities are located in a separate building adjacent to the hogans. You will need to provide your own bedding and towels.
Your health and safety during a trip is our first concern. You must be in good physical and mental health; itineraries for each trip include details on location and difficulty of activities. If you have any doubt about your ability to participate in a Crow Canyon trip, please contact us before registering. Any physical condition requiring special attention, diet, or treatment must be reported at the time of registration. Crow Canyon reserves the right to decline acceptance of any participant based on health concerns or considerations.
It is your responsibility to obtain and carry a passport if required. If a visa is required, we will send you the applicable information to secure one.
Crow Canyon shall be guided by the U.S. Department of State Consular Information Program in making a determination that a disturbance may substantially and/or adversely affect a program. If it is determined by Crow Canyon that travel to a country or region is not advisable, the program will be canceled and refunds of all recoverable expenditures will be issued.
