Structure 16-S, masonry surface structure

CONSTRUCTION

Method and Sequence

Room constructed within a D-shaped structure (Structure 17-S). Only construction observed were sections of the north, west, and east walls (see masonry screens for architectural details); the south wall most likely has fallen off the cliff. The north wall of this room extends beyond the boundaries of the room to the east and the west. It is the dividing wall within the D-shaped building. It was built before the west and east walls of this room. There are two west walls associated with this room and it is unclear why both were constructed. One may have provided structural support for the other.
