Structure 103, masonry surface structure

CONSTRUCTION

Method and Sequence

Structure 103 was constructed at the same time as Structure 104. The north, south, and west walls were tied; the east wall was abutted to the north and south walls. The foundation of Structure 103 possibly rests on an earlier masonry surface structure. A square hearth (Feature 3) was constructed in the approximate center of Structure 103 with vertical sandstone slabs. The hearth was constructed on Surface 1, a prepared adobe floor surface. Two small pit features (Features 1 and 2) were excavated from Surface 1. The function of these pits is unknown.

Roof Description

Very little of the structure walls are preserved. It is unknown what type of roof support this structure had. The roof support most likely rested on the top of the structure walls.
