Roof Description
The stratum that was interpreted as possibly including roof fall (PD 787) consists of a brown, chunky clay/silt that broke into angular chunks with white-mottled surfaces (mold or fungus?); some building stones present; no wood or wood impressions. The stratum that was interpreted as definitely being roof fall (PD 799) consists of tan/brown silt that, like the overlying sediment, broke into angular chunks with white-mottled surfaces. Some chunks had flattened surfaces that were stained dark gray, which the field recorder believed were "daub" from a second-story floor (because this is not a form of evidence that we recognize as a clear indication of an upper story, a separate structure has not been designated, though it is possible that one existed). Also present were small pieces of rotted wood and a shake.
