Structure 810, masonry surface structure

CONSTRUCTION

Method and Sequence

Constructed adjacent to the great kiva. The exterior face of the great kiva wall was used for the east wall of this room. The room was constructed as follows: (1) fill was deposited on top of undisturbed native sediment to create a level building surface--this fill continued beneath the great kiva wall and was probably deposited before the great kiva was built; (2) adobe was laid on top of the fill to create the room floor; (3) the south and west walls of the room were constructed in one building episode, along with the west wall of Structure 805 to the north; (4) the north wall was then constructed; (5) the room was roofed.
