STRUCTURE DATING

Abandonment
Structure 401 was abandoned in the late Pueblo III period, immediately prior to regional abandonment. Natural sediment accumulated within and above this structure. Artifacts were most likely washed in from surrounding areas of higher elevation.
Construction
Structure 401 was constructed above Structure 405 (which was constructed after A.D. 1250). Therefore, Structure 401 was constructed in the late Pueblo III period. Structure 401 may have been constructed immediately prior to regional abandonment.
