STRUCTURE DATING

Abandonment
The absence of refuse in the structure fill suggests that this structure was abandoned when the kiva suite was abandoned--sometime after A.D. 1266 (as indicated by cutting dates of 1266 from Structure 1004 and Nonstructure 1000).
Construction
Although no tree-ring dates are available for this structure, wall abutments indicate that Structure 1001 was constructed after Structure 1004 (kiva), which was tree-ring dated to the mid-A.D.1260s.
Remodeling
Field documentation unclear (see "Surfaces"). It is probable that there were at least two prepared floor surfaces in this room, one that predated the construction of the divider wall (Feature 3) and one (Surface 3) that was constructed when the divider wall was constructed. There are no means by which to precisely date the construction of these surfaces or the wall.
Reuse
No evidence of reuse.
