Documented as part of Block 1500, which is located in the west-central portion of the site.

Outside of, and adjacent to, the D-shaped building. The two test trenches (Segments 1 and 2) butt up against the outer curved wall of the D-shaped building on its north and west sides, respectively; Segment 3 is a small, exploratory test "window" that was excavated below Surface 1 in the northeast corner of Segment 2 before the rest of Segment 2 was excavated deeper. Because the two test trenches excavated in Nonstructure 1500 are located in the open area outside the D-shaped building, they actually fall within the large space generally regarded as the plaza, albeit its easternmost edge. However, the presence in excavated sediments of wall rubble and other materials clearly associated with the D-shaped building (Block 1500) justified the proveniencing of the test trenches with Block 1500.

This open area between architectural blocks was probably used for a variety of outdoor activities, gatherings, and events. Segment 2 of this nonstructure was also an access location for Architectural Block 1500, as there a doorway through the west exterior wall of the building located at the east end of this segment. Also, a layer of refuse was deposited on the plaza surface in Segment 1, and multiple layers of refuse were deposited on successive plaza surfaces in Segment 2.

Abandoned either as a result of the abandonment of this architectural block, the village, or both.

The upper portion of the exterior wall of this block collapsed onto the refuse that had accumulated on this surface, and additional sediment was also naturally deposited.

The only tree-ring date from this nonstructure is A.D. 1082vv; this sample appears to be from a reused timber, as Mesa Verde Black-on-white pottery was found in the same stratum (this type of pottery was not made until A.D. 1180). On the basis of tree-ring dates from structures in the D-shaped building, these surfaces are inferred to have been constructed or used between approximately A.D. 1260 and 1270; the final surface might have been constructed/used until the village was abandoned (sometime after A.D. 1270).

No means of dating the resurfacing episodes.

Probably abandoned when the village was abandoned--sometime after A.D. 1277.

Lowermost stratum of refuse in both test trenches contains Mesa Verde Black-on-white pottery, which indicates that all refuse in these nonstructural areas was deposited sometime after A.D. 1180.

No evidence of reuse.
