Masonry Details
General Location Southwest part of the site.
Specific Location Southwest of the roomblock in Architectural Block 2500.
Selection Criteria Surface was encountered during excavations to sample this midden area.
Use Outdoor use surface associated with Feature 1 (Other).
Abandonment Abandoned as a use surface when refuse was deposited on it.
Postabandonment Processes Recently mixed by looting activity.
Dating of Construction Surface was not constructed
Dating of Remodeling
Dating of Abandonment There are late Pueblo II and Pueblo III sherds in the disturbed midden (Nonstructure 2501) that rests on this surface. The latest type of sherd found in that midden is Mesa Verde Black-on-white, so at least some artifacts in the midden were deposited after A.D. 1180.
