Nonstructure 203, extramural surface
About this Nonstructure
General Location
Central portion of site.
Specific Location
Central portion of Block 200; within 1-x-1-m unit 509N 560E.
Selection Criteria
Third 1-x-1-m unit randomly selected for excavation in Block 200; exposed Nonstructure 203.
Use
This is an extramural surface from which two features were excavated (Feature 1, Hearth and Feature 2, Pit not specified).
Abandonment
Secondary refuse (Nonstructure 226) was deposited above the surface in the early Pueblo III period, therefore this surface was not used after the late Pueblo II/early Pueblo III period.
Postabandonment Process
Secondary refuse (Nonstructure 226) was deposited above the surface in the early Pueblo III period. Natural sediments accumulated above the refuse; the upper deposits were disturbed by plowing.
Dating of Construction
Based on pottery data and secondary refuse (Nonstructure 226) deposited above the surface, Nonstructure 203 was used during the late Pueblo II period.
Dating of Remodeling
None evident.
Dating of Abandonment
This surface was no longer used after the late Pueblo II period. This inference is based off of the secondary refuse deposits (Nonstructure 226) that covered the surface in the early Pueblo III period.
Dating of Midden
Secondary refuse (Nonstructure 226) was deposited above the surface in the early Pueblo III period.
Dating of Reuse
None evident.
