General description
Large, shallow, trash-filled pit on an extramural surface.
Use history
Use is unclear from the portion excavated; pit was filled with trash after original use ended.
Associated features
Excavation procedure
Pit was not recognized until it was three-quarters excavated; as a result, an unknown number of artifacts from the pit fill are in PD 290. The pit was excavated "full cut" after recognition.
Portion excavated
Only the portion within the excavation unit; feature continues outside unit to the north, east, and south.
Horizontal location
Located in east half of a 1 x 1 excavation unit; about 2 m north of the roomblock in Architectural Block 600.
Vertical location
Prehistoric ground surface (about 81 cm below modern ground surface).
