General description
Inferred on the basis of building stones with pecked corners and a sill or lintel stone found in wall-fall stratum (PD 780). If the inference that a doorway existed in this location is correct, then the doorway would have been raised-sill.
Use history
If the inference that a doorway existed in this location is correct, then the doorway would have provided access between the room (Structure 1001) and the unexcavated structure to the northwest.
Associated features
None.
Excavation procedure
The existence of this doorway is inferred on the basis of building stones with pecked corners and a sill or lintel stone found in the fill of Structure 1001 (wall-fall stratum, PD 780). There was no feature "fill" to excavate.
Portion excavated
Feature completely inferred. There was no fill to excavate.
Horizontal location
The location of this doorway in the northwest wall (see Database Map 4124) is inferred on the basis of building stones with pecked corners and a sill or lintel stone found in wall fall stratum (PD 780).
Vertical location
Unknown. But the remaining wall stood 100 cm above the floor, so if there was a doorway, it was at least that high off the floor.
Construction
Doorway totally inferred. If the pecked blocks and inferred sill or lintel stone in fill do indeed represent a doorway, then it was masonry with pecked cornerstones, and it had a sill or lintel stone.
Remodeling/ modification
Unknown
Thermal alteration
Not Recorded
Degree of preservation
Feature totally collapsed. Its existence is inferred on the basis of building stones with pecked corners and a sill or lintel stone found in wall-fall stratum (PD 780).

General description
Raised-sill doorway.
Use history
Originally provided access between Structures 1001 and 1002. Later, it was deliberately sealed.
Associated features
Same doorway as Structure 1002, Feature 4.
Excavation procedure
Exposed, not excavated.
Horizontal location
Southeast wall of room.
Vertical location
98 cm above floor (surface number not recorded, but probably is Surface 3).
Construction
The sides of the doorway are masonry, with lightly pecked cornerstones (not heavily modified). The lintel is a tabular stone, as is the sill.
Remodeling/ modification
Yes. Plugged with compound, unshaped (unpecked), uncoursed masonry set in "loose" mortar.
Thermal alteration
Not Recorded
Sealed
Yes. Plugged with masonry.
Degree of preservation
The lintel stone was removed during excavation to prevent it from falling.

General description
Fill-backed masonry wall that creates a "split-level" room, with the floor (Surface 3) being approximately 17 cm higher in the west end of the room than in the east end.
Use history
Low wall built to subdivide the floor of the room, creating two different floor levels. The portion of the floor west of the wall is approximately 17 cm higher than the portion of the floor east of the wall).
Associated features
None.
Excavation procedure
Exposed, not excavated.
Portion excavated
Completely exposed. Not excavated.
Horizontal location
Slightly west of center, this wall almost spans the room from the northeast wall to the southwest wall.
Vertical location
Floor (Surface 3).
Construction
This is a single-stone-wide, fill-backed masonry wall constructed of unmodified sandstone blocks, a maximum of three stones high (but mostly only two). Construction fill behind (west of) this wall raises the floor level approximately 17 cm above that in the rest of the room.
Remodeling/ modification
Not Recorded
Thermal alteration
Not Recorded
Degree of preservation
Excellent to good (extant portion in excellent condition, but wall may have originally continued to southwest wall of room).

General description
Cluster of three pecked depressions in bedrock surface.
Use history
Function unknown--possibly an architectural petroglyph. Do not know if it was created before, after, or at the same time as the construction of the site-enclosing wall and Structure 1001.
Associated features
None.
Excavation procedure
Recorded in provenience data, which are available through the "Field Data: Provenience Data" query in the multisite research database.
Horizontal location
North corner of room.
Vertical location
Bedrock (Surface 5).
Construction
Three small pits were pecked into an exposure of bedrock that also has other general surface modifications in the form of pecking and possibly use wear. Dimensions (length x width x depth) of individual pits (cm): 5 x 5 x 2.3, 4 x 4 x 0.9, 4 x 3.5 x 0.5.
Remodeling/ modification
No
Thermal alteration
Not Recorded
Sealed
Yes. Covered with construction fill and subsequent surfaces.

General description
Partial human skeleton; some portions articulated, most scattered.
Use history
Remains were deposited when the structure was abandoned, or collapsed into the room with the roof after the room was abandoned.
Associated features
Possibly Feature 6 (Human Remains Occurrence 21).
Excavation procedure
Recorded in provenience data, which are available through the "Field Data: Provenience Data" query in the multisite research database.
Horizontal location
Scattered, mostly in north end of room.
Vertical location
Stratum 2 (structural collapse--probably roof fall).
Construction
Not applicable.
Remodeling/ modification
No
Thermal alteration
Not Recorded
Degree of preservation
Actually, this is difficult to assess, because this feature was not "constructed." The bones themselves are in very good condition.
