Unclear: Field notes/map show base as 56 cm above "subfloor sterile," but there is no sterile documented for this structure. Probably means 56 cm above clean construction fill (Stratum 4, PD 341) or unmodified bedrock (Surface 3, PD 477).
Construction
The sides of the niche are formed by the blocks of the compound masonry room wall. Both the lintel and the sill are single shaped sandstone slabs. The back wall is simply a block built into the room wall.
