General comments

This feature is a berm; the only masonry involved includes sandstone rocks intentionally placed over the top of the mound of constructional fill that formed the berm. The rocks probably were intended to retard erosion of the mound. This north-south-trending berm is located at the west edge of a large natural depression, and is thus interpreted to have functioned as a dam in times of runoff.
