General Location In the great tower complex.
Specific Location 8.5 m east-southeast of the great tower; this midden rests on Nonstructure 1218 (bedrock surface).
Selection Criteria To sample undisturbed midden associated with this architectural block.
Use Area was used for the deposition of refuse, probably by the residents of the adjacent roomblock.
Abandonment
Postabandonment Processes Midden does not appear to have been affected by the 1931 Western State College field school excavations.
Dating of Midden A few Pueblo II sherds are present, but most are Pueblo III types. Presence of Mesa Verde Black-on-white sherds indicates that this refuse was deposited sometime after A.D. 1180.
