Postabandonment Processes Midden was covered with alluvial sediments and mixed by livestock trampling.
Dating of Midden This 40-cm-thick midden contains Mesa Verde Black-on-white sherds in the upper half of this continuously-used midden indicates that refuse was being deposited here until sometime after A.D. 1180. The high proportion of late design elements on decorated pottery sherds indicates deposition during the Pueblo III period (A.D. 1150-1300).
