General Location Central part of the site.
Specific Location East of roomblock in Architectural Block 400.
Selection Criteria To sample midden associated with this architectural block.
Use This area was used for the deposition of refuse, probably by the residents of the nearby roomblock; some refuse could predate this roomblock.
Abandonment Abandoned when occupation of this area ended.
Postabandonment Processes Upper half of deposits were mixed by recent looting activities.
Dating of Midden The upper half of this 70-cm-thick midden was churned by recent looting; the lower half was undisturbed. The presence of Mesa Verde Black-on-white sherds in the lower, undisturbed stratum indicates that much or all of the refuse was deposited sometime after A.D. 1180.
