Selection Criteria
Exposed in Backhoe Trench 1304, which was excavated to test a remote sensing anomaly; additional units placed to sample Nonstructure 1309.
Use
Disposal of secondary refuse by residents from a nearby roomblock during the late Pueblo II period.
Abandonment
Secondary refuse was no longer discarded in this area after the late Pueblo II period.
Postabandonment Process
Natural sediments accumulated above Nonstructure 1309. Plowing disturbed the upper portions of the refuse deposits.
Dating of Midden
Secondary refuse was deposited into this area during the late Pueblo II period.
