South-central portion of Block 1300; below Excavation Unit 296.
Selection Criteria
Remote sensing suggested potential structures; plow zone was removed (no structures were present) and Nonstructure 1310 units were placed to sample cultural fill.
Use
Disposal of secondary refuse by residents from a nearby roomblock during the middle Pueblo II period.
Abandonment
Secondary refuse was no longer discarded in this area after the middle Pueblo III period.
Postabandonment Process
Natural sediments accumulated above Nonstructure 1310. Plowing disturbed the upper portions of the refuse deposits.
Dating of Midden
Secondary refuse was deposited into this area during the middle Pueblo II period.
