Nonstructure 1319, extramural surface
About this Nonstructure
General Location
East-central portion of site.
Specific Location
Southeastern portion of Block 1300; within Backhoe Trench 1304.
Selection Criteria
Exposed in Backhoe Trench 1304.
Use
This is an extramural surface from which Nonstructure 1319 Feature 1, a pit not further specified, was excavated.
Abandonment
Natural sediments accumulated on the surface and into the pit (Feature 1) after the surface was no longer used. It is unknown when the surface fell out of use. Nonstructure 1309 deposits (secondary refuse) were deposited above the natural fill. Nonstructure 1309 deposits date from the late Pueblo II period. Therefore, Nonstructure 1319, Feature 1 was abandoned either during, or prior to, the late Pueblo II period.
Postabandonment Process
Natural sediments accumulated in the pit and on the surface after they were no longer used. Secondary refuse (Nonstructure 1309) was deposited above the natural fill. More natural fill accumulated above Nonstructure 1309 deposits; the upper portion of the natural fill and secondary refuse was disturbed by plowing.
Dating of Midden
Secondary refuse (Nonstructure 1309) accumulated above the natural sediment which covered Nonstructure 1319 Surface 1 and Feature 1.

Location
Whole study unit N E.
East-central portion of site.
Southeastern portion of Block 1300; above Nonstructure 1309 deposits.
Selection Criteria
Judgmental. Backhoe Trench 1304 was excavated to test a remote sensing anomaly thought to be a structure; exposed Nonstructure 1309 midden deposit and Nonstructure 1319, Feature 1.
Excavation Strategy
Full cut.
Unit Ends at
Fill continued. Fill continued below Backhoe Trench 1304 into Nonstructure 1309 and Nonstructure 1319, Feature 1.
