Central portion of Block 100; exposed in Backhoe Trench 128; midden deposit within Structure 138.
Selection Criteria
Exposed in Backhoe Trench 128; Segments 5 and 8 were excavated to sample Nonstructure 153 and Structure 138.
Use
Secondary refuse was deposited into the depression left by Structure 138 by residents from a nearby roomblock during the late Pueblo II period.
Abandonment
Refuse was no longer discarded in this area after the late Pueblo II period.
Postabandonment Process
Natural sediments accumulated above the refuse; the upper deposits were disturbed by plowing.
Dating of Midden
Secondary refuse was deposited during the late Pueblo II period.

Judgmental. The southern recess of a pit structure was evident in Backhoe Trench 128; Segment 8 was excavated immediately north of Backhoe Trench 128 to sample Structure 138.

Strata subdivided into arbitrary levels.
Unit Ends at
Structure floor. Fill continued into Nonstructure 153 before Structure 138, Surface 1 was encountered.

Judgmental. Structure 138 was exposed in Backhoe Trench 128. Segment 5 was excavated to sample Nonstructure 153 deposits (secondary refuse deposited in the depression of Structure 138) and to expose the floor and hearth of Structure 138.
