General Location
Central portion of site.
Specific Location
West-central portion of Block 200; within Structure 234.
Selection Criteria
Exposed by Backhoe Trench 227; deposited above Structure 234; 2-x-2-m unit placed to sample midden deposits.
Use
This refuse was discarded into the depression of Structure 234 by residents of a nearby roomblock in the early Pueblo III period. Natural sediments accumulated above the collapsed roof prior to the deposition of secondary refuse.
Abandonment
Refuse was no longer discarded in this area after the early Pueblo III period.
Postabandonment Process
Natural fill accumulated above the refuse; the upper portions were disturbed by plowing.
Dating of Midden
Secondary refuse was deposited into this area in the early Pueblo III period.

Unit Ends at
Fill continued. Excavation terminated when upper, natural fill within Structure 234 was exposed; ended at Stratum 2 Level 2 (PD 2120).
