Structure 18-S, masonry surface structure
About this Structure
General Location
Northeast corner of pueblo. Part of rim complex; rests on top of cliff.
Specific Location
Spans crack in cliff; southeast of Structures 16-S and 17-S.
Interpretive Type
Tower.
Structure Use
This is interpreted as a tower because it appears to be round and is located in a highly visible area. It is unclear how tall this tower once stood. Placement of tower over a crack provided access between the buildings on top of the cliff and the buildings at the base of the cliff. If this tower was built at the same time as the D-shaped building, they may have been a integrated architectural unit.
Dating
