The location of this structure (and the story above it--Structure 310) perched on a ledge partway up a face of a butte seems to have been stimulated by a concern for defense. The structure was thus probably used for protection during one or more attacks. Defensive use could also have included storage of provisions against the possibility of a siege, and to make provisions more difficult to find and steal during raids. Structure could also have been used for domestic activities during times of peace. The roof of the second story of this structure would have provided one of only two access routes to the top of the butte, and as such would also have been one of the few structures easily accessible from the top of the butte during a siege or other type of attack.

No specific data; abandonment thought to have occurred as a result of an attack in which many villagers were killed and that ended the occupation of the village.

No data; appears to be natural deterioration. Possible vandalism reported during interviews of local early settlers--wall may have been intentionally pushed down after World War II.
