Little evidence of use--only a few sherds were left on the floor. Three lithic cores from roof fall might have been stored in the roof beams and indicate flaked tool production in this structure, or they could have fallen from the top of the roof. This was a one-story room adjacent to a two-story structure (Structure 404). Proximity of Structure 403 to Structure 405 (kiva) suggests some association between the structures.

The partial burning of the roof is assumed to have occurred at structure abandonment. Structure abandonment might have coincided with the end of village occupation, as there is no refuse in structure fill, and the partial burning of the roof is consistent with the abandonment of other structures on the site that appear to have been in use when an attack that resulted in the deaths of many of the villagers ended village occupation.
