Northeast portion of site.

Specific Location

Central portion of Block 1400; below Backhoe Trench 1403 and 1404; within post abandonment fill of Structure 1402.

Interpretive Type

Shrine.

Structure Use

Because this structure was dry-laid, contained no prepared surface or features, and was unroofed, the structure use is unknown. Members of the Native American Advisory Team interpreted structures like Structure 1412 as a shrine.

Abandonment

Structure 1412 was abandoned in the late Pueblo III period, probably immediately prior to regional abandonment. Natural sediment accumulated within and above this structure. Artifacts were most likely washed in from surrounding areas of higher elevation.
