Structure 237 is similar to other pit structures occupied during the late Pueblo II period and was probably used in a combination of domestic and ritual activities. The presence of multiple bowl, jar, and ladle fragments suggests a domestic use of the structure. The presence of a hearth (Features 1, 2, and 3) also indicates a domestic use of the structure and was used for light, heat, and food preparation.

Based on pottery from secondary refuse above the roof (Nonstructure 245), Structure 237 was abandoned in the late Pueblo II period. Multiple vessels were present on the structure floor at abandonment. The primary beams were removed and probably recycled. The remaining roof sediments collapsed on to the structure floor.

Secondary refuse (Nonstructure 245) was deposited into the depression above the roof sediments. Natural sediments accumulated above the refuse; the upper deposits were disturbed by plowing.
