South of Structure 1212, north of Structure 1202, in the row of rooms that partly "frames" the kiva (Structure 1206) and corner room complex to the east.

Living room.

This room is large, has a hearth, and the floor is level. Three mano fragments and a few sherds were the only artifacts documented as being on or near the floor, and contribute little to an interpretation of use. No doorway was observable in the extant portions of the walls. Thus, access must have been through a roof hatchway which was probably located in the northeast corner, above the hearth. The presence of this well-constructed and heavily used hearth indicates that (1) food was cooked here, (2) there was a need for heat, (3) there was a need for light, (4) any combination of the above. The presence of a hearth in this large, well-constructed room leads to the inference that it was a living room.

The paucity of artifacts on or near the floor suggests that the abandonment of this room was leisurely; the absence of roof fall suggests that the roofing material was salvaged (during continued occupation of the architectural block and/or the village).

No roof fall was documented in this room, leading to a tentative inference that roofing material was salvaged and that either the kiva suite, other areas of the architectural block, or other areas of the village, continued to be occupied after this room was abandoned. The upper fill in this room was inferred in the field to be backdirt from pothunting that occurred in the fill of the kiva (Structure 1206).
