Dear Friend,
At Crow Canyon, we believe in the transformative power of understanding our human history—now more than ever. Through innovative programs, guided by collaborative research and the knowledge shared by our Native American partners, Crow Canyon educates students of all ages about the priceless value of cultural heritage. We inspire curiosity and critical thinking, foster meaningful connections across diverse communities, and nurture future generations to care for and protect the stories of our collective past.
Our work is at a critical crossroads. Federal policies have created an increasingly difficult landscape for educational and cultural initiatives nationwide. Funding for science-based education and cultural preservation is rapidly vanishing, jeopardizing the continuity of programming that not only bridges communities but also deepens our understanding of each other and the world around us.
At Crow Canyon, we have witnessed the remarkable and life-changing impact of our programs firsthand:
“I volunteered at Crow Canyon during Outdoor Museum on the Ground (OMOG) to help teach other kids about life in the Pueblo III Period. I taught classes at the Pueblo Learning Center, a reconstruction of a Puebloan structure from 1100-1300 C.E. Classes came from schools across Montezuma County. The experience was amazing! OMOG had a major impact on me and has inspired me to pursue a career in archaeology.”

Your support will keep programs like OMOG alive and ensure future generations can learn from the past.
“My archaeology journey began at Crow Canyon’s College Field School. Grateful to attend despite the pandemic, I immediately felt at home. Students from across the country gathered to learn and contribute to Southwest archaeology. Since then, I’ve worked in Alaska, as well as Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, and will begin a Ph.D. this fall. Crow Canyon jump started my career, and I’m forever grateful for the foundation and mentorship I received there.”
—Connor Ball, 2021 College Field School student and 2022 Field Intern
We cannot continue programs like these without your help. Federal funding once helped sustain key programs like our annual 4th-grade program OMOG, our college field school, and training for K-12 teachers to use our educational modules. As federal funding diminishes, we must turn to our community of supporters—people like you who believe in the power of education, history, and cultural preservation.
Please consider making a gift today. Every gesture, no matter the size,
helps us create a brighter future together!
By supporting Crow Canyon, you ensure that these vital programs remain impactful and accessible, empowering future generations to embrace their humanity, learn from the past, and forge a brighter, more connected future.
Your generosity today can make all the difference. Together, we can safeguard the stories that unite us and enrich our world.
With deepest gratitude,
