“Knowledge is power. Multiple perspectives on knowledge are wisdom.”

—David Melanson

These powerful words were shared in September by a participant in our newly revamped Archaeology Research Program. We couldn’t agree more.

As an educational and research organization, we believe knowledge and wisdom are gained through many “ways of knowing,” and exposing learners to different perspectives has always been a fundamental principle of our work.

We continually hear from you—our friends, supporters, partners, students, and participants—about the importance of this approach. Thanks to you and your continued support, we incorporated more “ways of knowing” in 2024 through new programs, enhanced curriculum, additional collaborations, and more scholars. Tens of thousands of people broadened their minds, views, and hearts as a result.

In 2024, your support helped thousands of elementary and middle school students gain accurate, inclusive knowledge about human histories, cultures, and science thanks to enhanced curriculum developed with Indigenous partners and taught by an incredible array of educators and scholars.

“Students had the opportunity to learn not just about the Ancestral Puebloan people, but also about current archaeological methods and ethical dilemmas faced in the field of archaeology…I feel that the strongest message…was one of respect: respect for different people of different cultures, respect for people who lived before us, and respect for those who will come after us.”

—John W., Teacher at Children’s Kiva Montessori School

In 2024, your support helped welcome 40 speakers and experts from all over the world to our weekly webinar series, attracting 40,000+ views. More than half were presented by Indigenous people.

“Every presenter that I have listened to has had a great impact on teaching me something new and looking at stuff I thought I knew in a different narrative or perspective.”—2024 webinar viewer

In 2024, your support helped incorporate even more scholars into our citizen science and travel programs, including a new Archaeology Research Program that featured more than 10 scientific and cultural experts.

“I have a keener insight and greater appreciation for how Native Americans experience their natural environment compared to those of us descended from European immigrants.” —2024 Cultural Explorations Glen Canyon participant

All of us at Crow Canyon are truly grateful for your continued dedication to our mission and to helping provide these diverse perspectives and programs to learners of all ages and backgrounds across the globe.

With gratitude,

Elizabeth Perry, President and CEO
