Dave Melanson

Lab Volunteer

Dave is originally from the New England seaport city of Gloucester, MA. Inspired by the space program, Dave obtained engineering degrees from Boston University and MIT and pursued a career in the Air Force and private industry leading national security space projects and organizations in Los Angeles, the Pentagon, and Albuquerque. After retiring, Dave turned his attention to archaeology. He became a Crow Canyon member in 2014 and currently volunteers in our archaeology research laboratory. Dave is President of the Hisatsinom Chapter of the Colorado Archaeology Society (CAS), Chairman of the Science Advisory Committee and member of the Long Range Planning Committee of the CAS state Board of Directors, and is the Chairman of the Southwest Colorado Canyon’s Alliance (SCCA) Board of Directors.
