Ziad Kobti (Ph.D., Computer Science, Wayne State University, 2004) is a principal investigator of the Village Ecodynamics Project. He developed artificially intelligent population models and evolutionary computational programming techniques for the VEP computer simulation. He also developed educational products, including an interactive game based on ancestral Pueblo settlement and lifeways.

Ziad has published on agent-based modeling in numerous scientific journals and edited volumes; these include the Annals of Information Systems and The International Journal on Artificial Intelligence Tools.

He is a full professor and director of the School of Computer Science, University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
