Modern Pueblos of Arizona and New Mexico

The descendants of the ancestral Puebloans live in the 18 pueblos of the Rio Grande River valley and in the pueblos of the Hopi and Zuni. Each pueblo has its own history and traditions. The Puebloan people assure us that their culture is alive and well and that they did not mysteriously disappear from the Mesa Verde region.

If you visit a pueblo today, you will find both modern and traditional activities taking place. Please check with the tribal office at the pueblo to learn the guidelines for visiting their community.
