Dave Melanson

Lab Volunteer

Since 2015, Dave has volunteered in Crow Canyon’s research lab, where he examines and documents chipped stone and other artifacts collected during the Center’s field work.


Susan Montgomery

Susan is a Crow Canyon Earthwatch alumna and experimental potter interested in the archaeology of southwestern peoples.

Larry is a retired attorney and has been a volunteer in the lab at Crow Canyon since 2010.

Paul is interested in natural history, pottery replication, corn domestication and its importance in Pueblo culture.

Chris Alger

Volunteer

Chris is a geologist and hydrogeologist focused on reconstructing past environments and water resources to support research on cultural sites and land modification. His key interest is to learn how ancestral peoples lived through changing climates and resources.

Kathleen is a geologist and hydrogeologist who, for many years, has explored the U.S. Southwest, both its geology and the evidence of ancestral habitation. She is now assisting with the evaluation of current and prehistoric landscapes and hydrogeologic systems, water resources, and the longevity of occupation sites.


Lew Matis

Lew is interested in pottery design, geological sourcing of chipped stone, and methods of reconstructing past environments.
